Distribuition Manager

As a Distribution Manager on the Irving Energy team you will be responsible to lead a team of Drivers to deliver our product and support our customers’ needs. Your goal will be to ensure that all customer needs are taken care of with a focus on safety, and efficient utilization of assets and costs. Your success will depend on your ability to lead a team of drivers to ensure safe delivery of our products while managing budgets, recruitment of new drivers and helping to meet the needs of our customers.

Your Responsibilities:

- Provides clear direction by establishing and regularly communicating performance expectations and results with the team, and takes appropriate actions to address issues as and when they arise
- Holds individuals accountable for their commitments, job performance and behaviors by regularly providing timely, specific and constructive feedback
- Conveys a sense of urgency and moves issues to closure through effective planning and prioritizing of activities
- Ensures alignment of team and individual goals, focusing on change and continuous improvement initiatives to achieve business objectives
- Celebrates successes and acknowledges disappointments in such a way that they motivate an even higher level of commitment and performance
- Responsible for development and management of assigned territory budget, targets and resource allocation decisions
- Knowledgeable in current and potential practices and trends in the industry to develop strategies to increase profitability
- Builds trust and support through active networking with other departments to leverage product and service development
- Demonstrates, communicates and rewards Company values and safe behaviors
- Consistently builds knowledge of customer and market issues for assigned region and identifies potential threats and opportunities
- Ensure business reliability through managing all health, safety and environmental programs and issues in region

Your Experience:

- Post-secondary education and/or equivalent distribution experience, with a customer service background
- 2-3 years’ experience in distribution and/or customer service
- 2-3 years of leadership/management experience
- Previous experience in an operational environment, manufacturing or transportation industry would be considered an asset
