The Private Client Risk Advisor provides advice and guidance to High-Net-Worth (HNW) and Ultra-High-Net-Worth (UHNW) families on their complex financial and risk management needs. They are focused on safeguarding and the wealth and assets of their clients and play a critical role in identifying risks and developing strategies to mitigate losses. The role serves as an expert consultant within the organization and demands a high level of expertise and discretion.

The Risk Advisor is accountable for assessing and analyzing the various risks associated with the client’s wealth and creating personalized risk management strategies tailored to their specific circumstances. They offer guidance on the various insurance strategies available to protect against known unexpected events and losses, to protect and preserve the client’s wealth in collaboration with the family’s other trusted advisors.

The Risk Advisor will develop a deep understanding of each client’s unique circumstances and remain abreast of the evolving needs of the family through regular meaningful contact. They will share market insights and trends affecting the financial landscape and communicate regularly on risk factors and market conditions that may impact the family’s ability to safeguard and grow their wealth.

In the event of a claim, the Risk Advisor will advocate for positive outcomes on behalf of the client’s they serve and help to navigate the recovery process in partnership with our carrier partners.

What You’ll Do

Completes comprehensive client discovery.

Owns and enhances the client experience throughout the relationship.

Works collaboratively with the Private Client team and other areas of HUB to develop the best personalized risk strategies for high-net-worth clients.

Represents HUB Private Client and HUB broadly in the marketplace as an expert in the field of solving the most complex claim and insurance problems.

Leads business development activities and participates in target client events and community initiatives.

Identifies and participates in process improvement activities.

Participates in cross functional activities with internal partners.

Keeps others abreast of activities, client information, status/progress of opportunities.

Ongoing commitment to personal development and accreditation.

Passionately provides thought leadership internally and externally to enhance the HUB Private Client brand.

Contributes to the development and education of other team members.

What You’ll Need for Success

Relevant post-secondary degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or related field.

10+ years of work experience serving clients/families in the HNW/UHNW segments.

Strong general insurance knowledge and a willingness to develop deep expertise in Private Client risk solutions/strategies.

Willingness to obtain a Level 2 Insurance License (Canada).

Works with a strong sense of urgency and a thirst for success; possesses a natural, high degree of self-motivation and discipline.

Strong relational skills - exhibits a genuine sense of curiosity, possesses effective active listening skills, and has a strong desire to be in service to others.

Demonstrated high level of emotional intelligence.

Ability to communicate difficult concepts in a compelling manner.

Entrepreneurial mindset and strong comfort with prospecting.

Ability to connect and socialize with people at all levels including Senior Executives and UHNW individuals.

Ability to influence client behaviors and partner engagement.

Passion for identifying client needs and solving complex challenges proactively.
