Evergreen Home for Special Care is a long-term care facility with an eighteen-bed Children Centre and ninety-seven bed Senior Centre in the beautiful Annapolis Valley. As a valued member of our professional and progressive team you will report to the Director of Dietary Services. The Food Service Supervisor is responsible for the front-line supervision of employees, day-to-day operations, meal service, and ensuring safe and efficient operations of assigned work areas.

**Other responsibilities include**:

- The supervision of the Nutrition Services Staff and food production based on therapeutic requirements, meal services, food safety and sanitation.
- Inventory control including but limited to ordering, receiving, putting away orders using FIFO.
- Maintaining and updating production sheets, standardized recipes, diet lists, checklists, etc.
- Assisting in menu building.
- Assisting in hiring & training new staff members
- Cooking a minimum of once week as required.
- Required to assist in the department as needed.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Graduate of a Foodservice and Management Course or equivalent supervisory experience.
- Proven ability to provide direction and leadership.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience/knowledge with IDDSI considered an asset.
- Time management and problem-solving skills.
- Must be flexible, reliable and be able to adapt to varying situations.
- Current Food Handler's Course; Completion of an Advanced Food Safety Certification considered to be an asset.
- Working knowledge of WHMIS, OH7S Standards and HACCP procedures.
- Experience working with union contracts an asset.
- Proficient computer skills
- Cooking experience/Red Seal an asset

**Hours of Work**:
Full-time (100%) position; 40 hours per week
