Wage rate : $ 17.00

The Personal Care Attendant will provide basic patient care and assist the nursing staff by performing a variety of support duties throughout the Hospital. The student may work day and evening shifts during the week and up to 4 weekends in 8.

**Skills and Qualifications Required**:

- Completion of second or third year Bachelor of Science Nursing Degree Program

**Position Responsibilities**:

- Assists with all activities of daily living and personal care
- Assists with the provision of basic physical patient care in areas of hygiene, nutrition and elimination
- Assists with admission, transfer and discharge of patients
- Assists with activities in an emergency situation, as assigned (i.e. clear patients’ and visitors from the emergency area, attending to other patients or other duties)
- Assists patients with meals, as requested
- Assists with passive, simple patient exercise
- Assists in meeting patients’ psychosocial needs, i.e. conversation, walks, programs, social events.
