**POSITION**:Family Life Youth Support Worker**, **Permanent Full-Time

**LOCATION**:Port Hardy (travel throughout the MWR)

**HOURS**:35 hours/week

**Summary**:
Reporting to the Program Lead, NICSS Family Life Program, is looking for a person-centered team member who applies strengths-based approach to working with individuals and at-risk clients. The successful applicant will work as part of a collaborative team to support children, youth and families to establish and achieve sustainable goals with the intent to support personal growth, healthy relationships, and situational change. You will provide both in home and community based services. This includes supporting reunification, stabilizing crisis situations, providing a range of skill development strategies, including parenting, home management, communication, child development and life skills. Additionally you will play a key role in supporting individuals to access other community resources.

Excel at developing trust-based and supportive relationships with team members, youth, extended family, community partners, and government agencies, including local Indigenous governments.

Possess excellent assessment, interviewing, crisis intervention, and case management skills.

Have post-secondary education/experience in Human Services, Child and Youth Care or related field, with a demonstrated knowledge of Family Service and Child Welfare Acts and Regulations, in particular Youth Agreements with MCFD (Ministry of Children and Family Development).

Practice a high degree of confidentiality, professionalism, ethics, and good judgement.

Prove to be an effective communicator (oral, written and listening) with a strong awareness of cross-cultural practices, traditions, and values.

Be experienced in group facilitation, outreach, conflict resolution, and person-centered planning, with a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.

Be willing to create a flexible schedule that supports working with youth, including some evenings and occasional weekend hours, as needed.

**Essential Qualifications**:
Valid Driver's License, clean abstract and reliable vehicle

Approved Ministry of Justice Criminal Records Check

Level 1 first aid w/CPR

Pay: $23.00-$28.00 per year
