**Position Overview**:
The Labourer - Framer is responsible for performing framing and general labourer construction tasks while ensuring quality, efficiency and production objectives are achieved by following the appropriate building code regulations, best practices and Fero standards.
**Key Accountabilities**:
- Build and install wood or metal studs and joists to specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications.
- Work collaboratively to ensure efficiency in the build process which includes performing general carpentry duties.
- Support various trades and/or subcontractors with daily tasks including flooring, drywall, insulation, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.
- Safely use various power tools including, but not limited to drills, saws pneumatic tools including, nail guns, staple guns and hand tools when required.
- Identify and communicate production problems as they arise and take action to correct upon approval from the Supervisor or Production Manager.
- Document and report on completed tasks, keeping accurate records of work performed.
- Follow all Health and Safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Ability to work overtime and/or weekends if required.
- Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Fero Code of Business Conduct.
- May perform other duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
**Qualifications**:
- 3 years of wood and steel stud installation and general carpentry
- Proficient in blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings.
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment used in the trade.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team. knowledge of Fieldwire an asset
- Knowledge of construction industry trends and best practices.
**Physical Requirements**:
- Bending, crouching, kneeling, lifting, tight spaces and ladder use
- Must stand for long periods, with frequent lifting up to 50lbs
- Able to work in all weather conditions including outdoors
- Working at heights
- Wearing PPE such as safety boots, safety vest, safety glasses and gloves.
