**About the Position**: This position is a full-time live-in position for an individual or a couple able to provide intensive treatment for youths in a family-style home environment in Raymond, Alberta. The Teaching Parents’ objective includes the following:

- To encourage youth to develop to their maximum potential, enable them to successfully integrate back into their families and communities.
- Assume parental responsibilities, providing care for the youths akin to your own children, with scheduled days off and vacation time.
- Model healthy family dynamics within the Teaching Home and the community by assisting the youth in their daily activities and routines, implement treatment planning and manage crisis and escalations when needed.

**About You**: As a couple/individual, you possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills and have the ability to effectively communicate with and relate to people of all ages. You are extremely detail oriented and organized and can manage multiple priorities at one time. You are compassionate individuals with a positive and empathetic approach. In addition, you are eager to learn and carry out the principles and philosophy of Closer to Home and the Teaching-Family Model.

**Qualifications**:

- A Diploma or Degree in a related field or experience working with vulnerable children and families is required.
- You must be willing to work a flexible work week, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Prior experience working with children and adolescents in a group home or similar setting is highly valuable.

**Job Requirements**:

- A Police Information Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search and an Intervention Record Check must be completed prior to commencement.
- Ability to manage a crisis situation in a therapeutic manner, and, if necessary, intervene physically in a manner that reduces the risk of harm.
