**About the role**

Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Regular Full-Time Business Systems Analyst III, Stem Cells Solutions to join our dynamic External Customer Experience team in Ontario. The work of a Business Systems Analyst III, Stem Cells Solutions is integral to Canadian Blood Services’ role as Canada’s Lifeline.

In this role, for large/complex business systems you will support the senior Business Systems Analysts of the team as the liaison between business clients or project team and the National Systems Solutions IT group, as well as other IT Team as required. For small to medium sized business systems, you will act as the primary liaison between business clients and the IT team.

You will participate in/complete the planning, development/acquisition, implementation stages of new functionality or systems as required, and in maintenance of small to medium sized business systems. You will identify and complete small to medium tasks as part of projects and releases. These tasks include, but are not limited to, requirements (use case and functional requirements) gathering/analysis, project plan and work schedule creation/ management, project and release coordination/management, test case creation/execution, problem management coordination/trending for existing business systems, resource capacity planning and coordinating between other IT departments to ensure the infrastructure and other enabling services for new and existing business systems are established.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Builds strong client relationships, develop IT strategic and tactical plans for the client’s business.
- Develops expertise in client strategic directions, business processes, data, and systems.
- In partnership with more senior members of the team or independently depending upon the size and complexity of the system, establishes and maintains a professional and cooperative working relationship with assigned client groups, other team members, client Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and other Information Technology (IT) Teams.
- Proactively proposes business solutions to client groups to leverage technology in improving the business processes and results. For more complex systems, participates in the proposal development and progression.
- Becomes the primary point of contact for day-to-day support and business systems planning for the client group. As part of a larger team, participates in providing day-to-day support and system planning for large systems.
- Assesses client requirements, determines possible solutions and plans system development.
- Identifies new program initiatives or changes requiring business system development or enhancements independently or in conjunction with senior business systems analysts depending upon the size/ complexity of the business system
- Aids/leads project team ensuring all tasks and timelines are understood and progressing on schedule.
- Assists with/establishes project schedules and ensures work activities are completed on schedule and within budget.
- Ensures work products are complete, fully tested, documented, and meet client requirements for small to medium sized projects/ systems or participates in these activities for large complex projects/systems.
- Assists client with testing and with development of user documentation and training.
- Provides timely reporting of progress and issues to management. Participates in/ leads the development and research of various process, quality and project standards, process efficiency, team practices and industry developments.
- Assists with/ advises other members of the team and within IT on process, quality, and project standards.
- Takes direction from other members of the team and from within IT for team operation and process efficiency or leads discussion/ investigation to ensure best practices.
- Understands and complies with Canadian Blood Services information technology regulatory standards.
- Performs other related duties as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary level education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution, preferably in Business, Computer Sciences or Computer/Soft
