Human Resource Co-op Student

**What are we looking for?**
The HR Co-op will be a member of the Welland Team and working closely to support our North American Human Resources department. This includes performing a variety of assignments to support the optimization of talent acquisition, training, employee engagement & relations initiatives.
**Essential Responsibilities**
- Assists with tasks within the full cycle recruitment process, such as prescreen, schedule, background checks, onboarding); as well as collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and training and development.
- Assists with planning and execution of special events such as organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and other celebrations.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
- Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
- Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
- Provides clerical support to the HR department.
**Qualifications**
- In process of completing bachelor’s degree in human resources management
- Knowledge of Canadian Employment Law & the Code would be considered an asset.
- Experience working within a manufacturing setting would be considered an asset.
