Psych-social Rehabilitation Specialist

**Job Duties**:
- Provide assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of PSR treatment required for the severely mentally ill consumer in the community;
- Advocate on behalf of the seriously mentally ill;
- Monitor the severely mentally ill individual through office / community based PSR treatment, and to make alternate arrangements for care provision, such as hospitalization, as necessitated by acuity of symptoms;
- Monitor clients for risk of suicide / violence and intervene effectively to provide a safe resolution;
- Reorganize urgent situations and work schedule accordingly;
- Act as a consultant in providing PSR education to the consumer, family and health providers in the community;
- Maintain documentation and files according to AMGH policy;
- Communicate to other providers of care in such a manner that facilitates uneventful transfer of care back to other providers when symptomatology stabilizes;
- Attend team conferences;
- Participate in community based education programming;
- Participate in committees as assigned;
- Practice in accordance with The Mental Health Act;
- Manages professional development to ensure knowledge is current;
- Flexible / self-directed clinical skills; and
- Provide field supervision with University / Community College students.
**Required Skills**:
- Mental health treatment planning / coordination to ensure proper service for the right client;
- Implementation of treatment of individual and group programming in Psychosocial Rehabilitation;
- Advocacy for clients, families and county needs;
- Provide education to consumer / family;
- Foster therapeutic relationship that is respectful of consumer's rights and needs;
- Monitoring and evaluation of program and service provided; and
- Operating from Community Site, dependent upon schedule devised
**Qualifications**:
- Regulated Healthcare Professional
- A minimum of five years psychiatric experience (inpatient / community) working with individuals and groups with serious mental illness is essential;
- Knowledge of psychiatric disorders and etiology;
- Demonstrated ability to function interdependently / cooperate with a multidisciplinary team across a multitude of system interfaces;
- Understanding of rural communities;
- Demonstrated competence in the development and refinement of PSR program training manuals and materials;
- Ability to coordinate psychiatric outpatient clinics in collaboration with county;
- Consulting psychiatrists;
- Willing to be flexible in altering scheduled hours in order to accommodate emergencies and unforeseeable situations;
- Training / education and demonstrated competence in non-violent crisis intervention and suicide prevention;
- Possess ability to problem-solve and maintain clinical responsibilities in complex situations;
- Possess current certificate in CPR;
- Demonstrated computer literacy and understanding of statistics;
- Possess valid driver's license and access to vehicle;
- Demonstrated clinical, organizational, leadership, interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills;
- Possess extensive knowledge of community resources; and
- Familiar with completion of outcome measurement and quality improvement activities.
**Salary**: $29.60-$34.13 per hour
