Houseperson

**Job Summary**
As a Houseperson with Long Beach Lodge Resort, you will play an important role in maintaining a safe and fully functioning facility while ensuring compliance with various federal, provincial and local environmental, health, safety, operating and building codes, standards and regulations.

**Responsibilities**
- Consistently offer professional, friendly, and engaging service
- Responsible for the maintenance and repair of the physical building and all of its features
- Maintains all exterior garbage cans, and ashtrays.
- Collect, return, and organize garbage and recyclables in appropriate locations.
- Sweeps (blower) cottage walkways as needed.
- Keeps entrance, breezeway and walkways clear of sand, debris, and trash.
- Provide luggage assistant for guests as requested.
- Open hot tub at Surf Club and ensure area is clean and well maintained.
- Clean BBQ and surrounding area (ensure necessary utensils are present)
- Assist other departments as required for events. (i.e. wedding set up)
- Report any engineering problems or repairs to Maintenance Manager.
- Maintain hotel guest room and public space through preventative maintenance.

**Qualifications**
- A secondary school diploma is preferred.
- Previous housekeeping and maintenance experience is an asset.
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License
- Ability to identify, troubleshoot and problem solve.
- Must be willing to learn, self-motivated and be comfortable working in a technically demanding environment.
- Capable to perform light maintenance duties.
- Attention to detail.

**Working Conditions**

Flexible, must be willing to work a variety of hours, including days, nights as well as weekends and holidays based on the business needs.

**Physical Requirements**
- Constant standing and walking throughout shift for up to 8 hours
- Physically demanding; frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
- Kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting.
- Occasional ascending or descending stairs
