The Ultra manufacturing function is responsible for the manufacture, integration and test of a wide range of products and systems providing innovative capabilities for our customers.

**Job Description**:
Assembler-Tech work is defined as low volume, custom build mechanical and electrical assembly work.

Working with close supervision and direction and in accordance with production work instructions and/or basic wiring diagrams and lists, assembly drawings and other written, pictorial or verbal instructions:

- Assembles parts, components, sub-assemblies and assemblies, manipulating a variety of hand tools and productionized and non-productionized semi-automatic assembly equipment.
- Use of soldering irons including surface mount technology (SMT) soldering techniques
- Responsible for operator verification (OV) and reporting, including development and revision of OV codes and checklists
- Operate semi-automatic, automatic and manual test equipment
- Use of computers for time and attendance, OV and automatic testing, and to access configuration control documents
- Meets quality and production standards
- Light lifting of assemblies
- Basic development and revision of work instructions
- Follows correct build procedures by comparing the BOM and drawings to the build matrix to ensure the correct revision is used.

**Required Skills**:

- Grade 12 or equivalent experience and capability
- Minimum 1 year assembly line experience
- The successful person must be able to gain the appropriate Canadian government security clearance and satisfy all requirements to be able to work on Canadian Controlled Goods projects.

Desired Skills:

- Good working knowledge of recognized industry workmanship standards
- Soldering and mechanical assembly experience
- Ability to use mechanical hand tools
- Competent computer skills
- Good communication skills (verbal and written)
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
- Willing to maintain a high level of productivity without compromising quality standards
- Attitude: has a positive can-do attitude in everyday work.
