Course Summary: The course covers foundational and core concepts associated with Business Design. It introduces students to the most prolific design practices and methods used in business decision-making today. Topics include business model design, strategy design, service design, customer and employee experience design. Lessons involve lectures, case-method discussions and experiential or ‘hands on’ learning exercises. Instructional materials include case study course packs, electronic workbook and Miro board templates.

Instructor Qualifications: Required qualifications are a graduate degree with a specialization in Business Design. Preference will be given to those with recent experience teaching and teaching assistance with Business Design related courses at a post-secondary institution at either undergraduate or graduate levels. Recent experience with studio-learning methods, design thinking case studies and digital instructional aids (e.g. Miro boards) is also preferred.

Rate of pay inclusive of 4% vacation pay (0.5 Full-Course Equivalent)
