**Job Overview**

Reporting to the Senior Legal Counsel, as the **Legal Counsel** you are responsible for providing legal expertise and services to support Qualico’s portfolio of companies and subsidiaries. You advise and counsel across multiple areas of corporate, finance and property law relative to Qualico's legal rights and obligations.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

- Completing all required security documents for project financing in an efficient and timely manner.
- Drafting and completing all property transaction agreements, including conveyancing thereof.
- Conveyancing of raw land, lots and residential properties.
- Providing advice on all aspects of commercial leases and land development.
- Monitoring company activities and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- A strong communicator; you clearly express your thoughts in conversation as well as write and present in a persuasive and influencing manner.
- An active listener; you seek to understand and listen to others in a non-judgmental way.
- Detail oriented; you focus on detailed accuracy when dealing with a high volume of work.

**Essential Requirements**
- A Canadian Common Law Degree.
- Member with certificate of good standing from The Law Society of Alberta.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Corporate, Property (Commercial and Residential) and Commercial Law.
- Direct or equivalent experience with preparing documents and providing advice for all aspects of the Condominium Property Act.
- Collaborative individual who has a demonstrated ability to effectively work with internal stakeholders and external counsel in Alberta and other jurisdictions.
- Ability to work independently and under the direction of Director, Alberta Legal Services.
- Ability to able to work on multiple projects and within tight deadlines.
- Satisfactory verification of criminal record check.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint and PowerPoint).
