The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is looking for a Veterinary Anatomic Pathologist in the Lethbridge, Winnipeg, Ottawa & Saint-Hyacinthe Animal Health Laboratories.

Reporting directly to an Animal Health Laboratory Director, the position is responsible for providing diagnostic pathology services for diseases of high priority to CFIA, pathology support for meat inspection and forensic pathology services for animal welfare.

Leading a technical team, the incumbent ensures compliance with ISO 17025 certification, manages assets and human and financial resources. The pathologist also provides advice to internal and external CFIA clients, contributors and senior management. The incumbent plays an important role in various research projects by providing pathology services and advice to project leads or collaborators. The pathologist will formulate recommendations to clients, senior management and international stakeholders on animal disease prevention, control, laboratory diagnosis and sample collection.

Position are located in Lethbridge, Winnipeg, Ottawa & Saint-Hyacinthe and require the incumbent to be present in the Laboratory.

Se rapportant au directeur du laboratoire de santé animale, le poste à combler est responsable d’offrir des services de pathologie animale pour des maladies de haute importance pour l’ACIA, du support pour l’inspection des viandes, et de la pathologie légiste dans le domaine du bien-être animal.

Dirigeant une équipe, le titulaire du poste assure la conformité à l’accréditation ISO 17025 et gère les ressources humaines et financières. Le/la pathologiste prodigue aussi des conseils aux clients internes et externes à l’ACIA, aux collaborateurs ainsi qu’à la haute gestion. Le/la titulaire du poste joue un rôle important dans divers projets de recherche en offrant des services de pathologie vétérinaire et des conseils aux responsables des projets ou aux collaborateurs. Le/La pathologiste formulera des recommandations aux clients, à la haute gestion et aux intervenants internationaux sur la prévention et le contrôle de maladies animales et sur les méthodes diagnostiques et de collectes d’échantillons.

Les postes sont situées à Lethbridge, Winnipeg, Ottawa et Saint-Hyacinthe et nécessite que le/la titulaire du poste soit présent(e) dans le laboratoire.
