- The Counsellor is responsible for ensuring the safety, care and enjoyment of all the registrants in the 2023 Summer Hockey Camps at the Bell Sensplex (Ottawa West), and/or Richcraft Sensplex (Ottawa East)._

**_ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS_**

- _Responsible for ensuring the safety, enjoyment and care of the campers _
- _Manage relationships between campers, parents in a professional manner_
- _
- _Responsible for following policies and schedules set out by Development Programs Coordinator/Camp Supervisor (e.g. signing in and out procedures, schedule of activities, etc)_
- _
- _Other duties as assigned by the Development Programs Coordinator/Camp Supervisor _

**_Health & Safety Responsibilities and Accountabilities _**
- Responsible for ensuring that all areas covered by Occupational Health & Safety Act ("OHSA") are adhered to, specifically:_
- _ Working in compliance with the provisions of the OHSA, regulations and internal policies and procedures_

- _Using or wearing protective equipment, devises or clothing when required _
- _Reporting any missing or defective equipment or protective device which could endanger himself or herself or another team member_

- _Reporting any contravention of the OHSA, regulations or Senators Sports & Entertainment policies and procedures_

- Responsible for completing on-line training modules as required, including, but not limited to:_
- _ Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability (AODA)_

- _AODA, the Integrated Accessibility Standards_

- _Ontario Worker Health & Safety Awareness_

- _Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)_

- _ Hockey experience/knowledge required_

- _Able to work flexible hours during the day, Monday-Friday_

- _Able to work under pressure and adapt to changing environments_

- _Must be comfortable and enjoy working with children_

- _Previous child care experience and/or Summer Camp counseling experience an asset_
- _
- _Professional, courteous demeanor_
- _
- _Must be at least 15 years of age_
- _
- _Strong organizational skills_
- _
- _Excellent communication skills (written and oral); bilingual (French & English) preferred_
- _
- _Strong work ethic and commitment to excellence_
- _
- _Valid First-Aid Certificate required _
- _Bilingualism (French & English) is an asset._

- _Must be able to provide a clear police check_

- _Must be available for training before camp begins_
