**DP World Fraser Surrey**
The Largest Multi-Purpose Marine Terminal on the West Coast of North America. Located in the Greater Vancouver Area of Surrey, BC, DP World Fraser Surrey is the largest modern, multi-purpose marine terminal on the West Coast of North America. Since 1962, our terminal has been serving the need of our customers with our variety of services including container, breakbulk, project cargo, forest products and bulk. We are only a 2-hour vessel transit from Pacific Ocean access and have excellent proximity to highways, railways and industrial areas. Located just 25 KM from the US border and with 50,000 feet of rail our terminal is an efficient rail and road solution in the Vancouver gateway. Combined with our six berths we are an exceptional choice for North American Market access.

**The Opportunity**
The Manager, Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) provides leadership and strategy for the health, safety and environmental programs for DP World Fraser Surrey, Mainland Stevedoring and Nanaimo. The role is responsible for the continuous improvement of all of the current programs, as well as the identification and development of new initiatives.
**In This Role, You Will**:
- Lead in the development of standardized HSE systems, programs, policies, training, campaigns and programs to prevent injury and ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
- Develop HSE improvement plans aligned with the regional strategy and requirements.
- Audit and evaluate programs to reduce loss, recommending and implementing programs for improvement.
- Design methods to motivate and influence the creation of a world class HSE culture.
- Implement standardized, actionable HSE metrics and communication protocol to leadership teams to drive safety improvement.
- Create a network of internal and external alliances to develop and implement policies, programs, procedures, standards, training and processes.
- Ensure accident prevention/abatement through detailed injury and accident reporting, data analysis and investigation compliance.
**What You Bring To The Role**:
- A degree in Occupational/Industrial Health and Safety or a related field, combined with CRSP designation.
- Advanced knowledge of terminal safety and environment management systems and successful implementation of incident, change, and problem management programs.
- Ability to strategically plan, analyse, implement and review a variety of projects and assignments.
- Strong commitment to client service excellence with the ability to develop and maintain trusting relationships across all levels and functional areas of an organization.
- Demonstrated financial and budget management skills.
- Strong business acumen and bottom-line orientation as it relates to decision making that impacts the organization.
- Outstanding leadership skills and the ability to motivate, develop and encourage staff to positively contribute to business goals and objectives.
- Minimum 5 years of management experience in Safety and Management Systems.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working in heavy industrial environment; unionized environment is an asset.
- Experience in leading critical incident investigations, development and management of corrective action projects, and in liaising with government, regulatory, industry and labour organizations.
