**About the Position**:
As a Family Specialist, you contribute to the success of the Therapeutic Foster Caregiving program by providing a full range of expert knowledge and skills to the Therapeutic Foster Caregivers. Reporting to the Therapeutic Caregiving Specialist, the focus of the role is to ensure that the therapeutic team functions in a way that fully meets the needs of its service participants while ensuring that McMan's values are maintained, and agency policies and procedures and Code of Ethics are followed. This is a full-time term position to December 31, 2025.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Ensure that program practice is in full compliance with contractual, policy and procedural requirements.
- Build rapport and maintain connection with service participants to ensure that services meet their needs as identified through the service delivery process.
- Be involved with Therapeutic Foster Caregiving initial case assessments in collaboration with the Children and Family Services Child Intervention Practitioner and broader therapeutic team when new referrals are made to the program.
- Provide consultation, training, instruction, and facilitate support groups for families of origin and the Therapeutic Caregivers.
- Drive cultural competency in the Therapeutic Foster Caregiving program by consulting cultural allies and maintaining positive relationships with home communities, particularly Indigenous ones.
- Obtain and maintain positive working relationships with all multidisciplinary team partners including but not limited to Ministry of Children and Family Services, cultural allies and experts, clinicians, and community.
- Intensively support the transitions of children/youth in and out of the program.
- Using innovative strategies, support the Therapeutic Caregiving Specialist with recruiting Therapeutic Caregivers.
- Formulate clinical case conceptualizations and initial treatment plans for children in Therapeutic Foster Caregiving homes.
- Schedule is primarily Monday through Friday from 8:30 to 4:30 with flexibility required to accommodate program needs and after hour crisis issues. Participation in the on-call rotation is expected.
- Work in collaboration with employees and the leadership team to enhance the direction and vision of McMan.

**Requirements & Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a human services related field.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working in family support roles.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working in child/youth support roles.
- Experience working with Indigenous communities, including working on-reserve.
- Experience in therapeutic/treatment planning.
- Registered in respective provincial association, if applicable.
- Combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Clear Criminal Record Check and Child Intervention Check dated within the past six months, Driver’s Abstract, valid Class 5 Driver’s License, daily use of reliable vehicle and minimum $2M vehicle insurance to carry passengers.
- Standard First Aid CPR Level C Certificate.
