**Financial Controller**

At Vicwest, we are “Building for Tomorrow” and are currently looking for a **Financial Controller**, reporting into our **Burlington, Ontario** office.

Since 1930, Vicwest has been Canada’s designer and manufacturer of metal roofing and building envelope systems that withstand our harshest climates. Not only are our products environmentally friendly, but our aim is to produce them in the most environmentally responsible way.

This is an exciting opportunity to join one of Canada’s best-known building materials suppliers as we embark on a significant growth journey through new product launches and market penetration. As part of the Kingspan Group, Vicwest has an ambitious sustainability program, Planet Passionate, revolving around the impact of building materials on the environment.

**Position Summary**:
The Financial Controller is responsible for driving the business strategy by developing commercial and operational reports that reflect a deep understanding of the business and its broader commercial market dynamics. The incumbent is responsible for upholding the Group’s control environment, designing and implementing new controls where necessary, and overseeing all financial reporting.

The Financial Controller also plays a large part in providing relevant and timely information to the Executive
Team, to support assessments of the business’s strategy and objectives. Finally, the successful incumbent will develop and mentor the finance team and identify career progression pathways within.

This position reports directly to the Director of Finance.

**Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities**:

- Ensures the preparation of timely and accurate monthly management accounts and reports for local and

Group management.
- Maintains the Group’s control environment, as set out in the Group Accounting Manual and other associated control and procedure documents, within all facets of the business.
- Responsible for leading the year end audit and internal audit processes.
- Assists the Director of Finance with periodic reports to the Group’s Audit Committee to explain the processes adopted and undertaken by management, and regularly reviews the effectiveness of internal controls covering financial, operational and compliance controls.
- Involvement in the preparation of budgets, forecasts and business plans and continued monitoring and review of performance against them to enable robust reporting of variances to the Board

**Financial Controller**
- Assists the Director of Finance on all future M&A ventures, including but not limited to due diligence, fair value exercises and post-acquisition integration.
- _Ad hoc _analysis as required.
- Lead and manage of team of 5.

**Qualifications**:

- Recognized professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CGA, CMA).
- 8+ years’ experience in the accounting field.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a supervisory/leadership role specific to a manufacturing business.
- Experience with EU IFRS.
- Proficient in SAP, FICO and Power BI.
- Proficient with accounting systems, reporting tools, and MS Office with the ability to learn new information management systems quickly.

**Skills**:

- Willingness and proven ability to develop processes and procedures quickly.
- Demonstrated ability to work proactively and independently.
- Detail oriented and ability to perform tasks with a high degree of accuracy.
- Highly developed written, oral, and presentation skills, and ability to effectively interact with management, employees, regulators, and external auditors.
- Ability to communicate and enforce adherence to processes, procedures, and performance objectives.
- Leadership and decision-making capabilities.
- Superior problem-solving, analytical, time management and organizational skills.
- Identifies process gaps and inefficiencies and drives process improvements to mitigate risk and drive efficiency in a fast-paced and growing environment.
- French is an asset.
