Nootka Marine Adventures is a wholly owned subsidiary of Security Properties Inc., which is based out of Seattle, WA.

Nootka Marine Adventures is a leading resort operator dedicated to sustainable adventure tourism on the west coast of Vancouver Island. We host guests from around the world and love to share our passion for saltwater sportfishing and other outdoor adventures. Our focus is to grow a new generation of passionate anglers by teaching families and youth to fish.

The IT Technician is responsible for overseeing our computer systems and will act as the primary point of contact for IT support within our organization. The IT Technician will work primarily in our head office in Courtenay, BC, and will be required to travel between our locations to perform work, as needed. This position will report to the Controller.
- Valid driver's license
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
- At least 2 years’ experience in computer networks and systems maintenance
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Good problem-solving skills
- Willingness to work on-call

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Providing timely support to users and acting as the first point of contact for error reporting
- Performing basic and preventative maintenance on company devices
- Traveling between company locations on Vancouver Island to perform work
- Overseeing hardware inventory including company-owned phones, tablets, printers, and computers
- Overseeing security and privacy of networks and computer systems
- Overseeing Microsoft licensing and user management
- Detecting, diagnosing, and troubleshooting problems relating to hardware, software, or other technical activities
- Assisting with new tech purchasing, installation, setup, and training
- Detecting equipment shortages and ordering new devices as needed
- Providing internal tech and cyber-security training
- Troubleshooting hardware and software issues
- Managing company passwords
- Providing onboarding and offboarding technical support
- Establishing good relationships with all departments
- Managing technical documentation including a maintenance schedule

**Compensation**:
This is a year-round permanent position with an expected wage range between $27-$36 per hour, commensurate with experience. Mileage is paid for approved business travel. Extended health and dental benefits are included after 3 months.

**Schedule**:

- Part-time, 8-hour shift*
- Monday to Wednesday*
- On-call requirement
