Guides deliver public and educational programming that showcase past, present and future STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics) related facts, in order to educate visitors on how to better understand them within the Canadian context. By enriching visitor experiences through daily interactions, guides are ambassadors for the Ingenium brand and play a crucial role in its success.

The standard weekly hours are from Monday to Sunday. You must be available on weekdays, weekends, statutory holidays and occasionnal evenings.

**EDUCATION**
- at least one year of university or college in the field of Sciences or Technologies, Education, Communications, History, Museum Studies or an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience;
- degrees and education in science or technology-related fields would be considered an asset.

**EXPERIENCE**
- in interpretation, education or theatrical experience in museums, parks, tourism, schools and/or related fields;
- working with children.

**KNOWLEDGE**
- of concepts of science and technology relating to such topics as physics, chemistry, astronomy, biology, engineering, technology, and Canadian History and its’ First Nations;
- Of different learning styles and interpretive techniques to deliver public and educational programming to diverse audiences of varying sizes.

**COMPETENCIES**
- effective communication skills in both official languages to deliver dynamic interpretive and educational programming. Presentation skills and public speaking experience are beneficial when doing formal stage demonstrations;
- the skill to adapt, synthesize, summarize and present complex scientific information to visitors of all ages, backgrounds and levels of learning;
- ability to work in a team setting and without supervision, which entails a high degree of flexibilit y, collaboration, being able to manage time effectively, and creatively solve problems;
- ability to discuss complex science and technological-related issues, to visitors with diverse experiences and opinions, with objectivit y, composure, and empathy.

Les guides présentent des programmes publics et éducatifs qui mettent en lumière des faits entourant les STIAM (sciences, technologie, ingénierie, arts et mathématiques) d’hier, d’aujourd’hui et de demain afin d’éduquer les visiteurs du musée et de les aider à mieux comprendre ces questions dans le contexte canadien. En enrichissant l’expérience des visiteurs par leurs interactions quotidiennes, les guides sont les ambassadeurs de la marque Ingenium et jouent un rôle crucial dans sa réussite.

Une semaine normale de travail est du lundi au dimanche. Vous devez être disponible les jours de semaine, la fin de semaine, lors de congés feriés et, à l'occasion, lors de soirées.

EDUCATION
- au moins un an d’études collégiales ou universitaires dans le domaine des sciences, de la technologie, de l’éducation, des communications, de l’histoire ou des musées, ou une combinaison acceptable d’études, de formation et d’expérience dans ces domaines;
- des diplômes et des études dans des domaines liés aux sciences et à la technologie seraient considérés un atout.

EXPÉRIENCE
- en interprétation, en éducation ou en théâtre dans des musées, des parcs, des établissements touristiques, des écoles ou des lieux semblables;
- en travail auprès d’enfants.

CONNAISSANCES
- de notions scientifiques et technologiques liées à des sujets comme la physique, la chimie, l’astronomie, la biologie, l’ingénierie, la technologie, l’histoire canadienne et celle des Premières Nations;
- de divers styles d’apprentissage et de techniques d’interprétation pour pouvoir présenter des programmes publics et éducatifs à des auditoires de tailles et de compositions variées.

COMPÉTENCES
- bonnes compétences en communication dans les deux langues officielles afin de pouvoir présenter des programmes éducatifs et d’interprétation de manière dynamique. Compétences en présentation et expérience en prise de parole en public (un avantage au moment de donner des présentations sur une scène);
- capacité d’adapter, de synthétiser, de résumer et de présenter de l’information scientifique complexe à des personnes de tous âges, antécédents et niveaux de scolarité;
