Founded by Horizon Church, RCA serves K-12 students across multiple campuses, while RCOA supports home-learning families throughout British Columbia. Together, they foster a vibrant community where students are nurtured in both grace and knowledge, guided by Christian principles. Key Responsibilities Operational Strategy Development In partnership with the board, develop and implement an operational strategy that aligns with RCASs mission and goals. Guide the transition to a centralized operational model, ensuring streamlined operations across all business units.
Set the strategic direction for facilities, procurement, resource management, and logistics across the organization. Leadership and Team Management Provide leadership to the operational team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Oversee the development of job descriptions, performance metrics, and training programs for operational staff. Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and coaching to ensure alignment and growth.
Facilities and Resource Management Oversee the management of school, daycare, and office facilities, ensuring their safe, efficient, and optimal use. Manage the procurement processes to ensure cost-effective purchasing and vendor management. Implement and maintain an inventory management system for supplies and materials. Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure that facilities and equipment are well-maintained and operational.
Logistics and Daily Operations Lead the development of streamlined requisition processes for materials and services. Manage distribution and ensure that supplies are delivered promptly across all business units. Coordinate facility usage and ensure the smooth operation of daily activities at schools, daycares, and administrative offices. Develop and enforce safety protocols, ensuring the safety of students, staff, and visitors.
Event Planning and Scheduling Plan and coordinate events, including school functions, community activities, and special events. Manage event logistics, from scheduling and setup to teardown, ensuring all requirements are met. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure successful event execution and timely communication. Process Improvement and Efficiency Conduct regular audits to identify inefficiencies in operational processes and recommend improvements.
Implement best practices, such as Lean or Six Sigma methodologies, to optimize operations. Monitor and assess the impact of process improvements and adjust strategies as needed. Collaboration with Stakeholders Work closely with department heads, including HR, IT, and finance, to ensure seamless coordination of operations. Act as a liaison between operational teams and key stakeholders, including parents, staff, and the board.
Collaborate with IT to implement technological solutions that enhance operational efficiency. Reporting and Analytics Develop and maintain metrics and KPIs to track operational performance. Prepare regular reports on operational performance for the executive team and board. Utilize data analytics to identify trends and opportunities for further operational improvements.
Qualifications Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred. 7-10 years of experience in operations management, preferably in an educational or non-profit environment.
