The Defined Benefits and Actuarial Services practice within Retirement Consulting is composed of a dedicated group of nation-wide professionals with extensive experience in the fields of pension and actuarial consulting. We specialize in providing strategic guidance, expert analysis, and effective risk management to help our clients achieve the goals and objectives of their pension plans. With a deep understanding of complex mathematical models and statistical analysis, our team excels in assessing and quantifying risks in the retirement landscape. Here’s the impact you’ll make and what we’ll accomplish together

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Actuarial Consultant to join our team. As an Associate Actuarial Consultant, you will play a vital role in designing and managing defined benefit pension plans for our clients. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the long-term sustainability of these plans while meeting the needs of both employers and employees.

What you’ll do- Client Relationship Management: responsible for building relationships with clients; developing as the main point of contact and trusted advisor, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.- Actuarial Consulting Services: assess the financial health of defined benefit pension plans, review pension benefits, and support on strategic recommendations for plan design and restructures. This includes plan valuation, risk management, regulatory compliance, employee education, and plan administration, contributing to the long-term sustainability of the plan for clients and their members.- Team Leadership: support team engagement by providing mentorship, guidance and technical expertise to junior team members, fostering their professional development. Assist in overseeing the delivery of projects, ensuring high-quality work and adherence to timelines.

You have- Post-secondary education in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field- Professional actuarial exams and certifications through the CIA, SOA, or IFOA- At least 4 years of relevant work experience in pension consulting- Proficiency with MS Office, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint- Exceptional client focus with strong professional acumen- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills- Strong communication (oral and written), time management, and organizational skills- Dedicated team player, who demonstrates initiative and independence while supporting the growth and mentorship of junior team members

What you bring- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a deep understanding of mathematical models and statistical analysis- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey complex actuarial concepts to clients and stakeholders- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis and reporting- Continuous learning and staying updated with the latest developments in actuarial science, financial markets, industry developments and emerging trends related to the pension industry
