Aviation (Maintenance/Flight Operations) Quality Assurance and Safety Specialist’s work is integrated as part of the Safety Office and is responsible to the SQMS Director.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Promote the safety by demonstrating a high level of proficiency and discipline during operational activities;
- Analyze and investigate all types of reports assigned to them, including data entry into the SMS database, incident investigation, risk assessment, root cause determination and appropriate corrective actions and their follow-up;
- Make recommendations for mitigation plans/strategies;
- Monitor and analyze evolving trends as part of the Safety, Quality and Security Management Programs;
- Participate in internal and external audits, in preparation for audit checklists and other audit-related documentation in collaboration with the Safety Office;
- Participate in risk assessment as part of management of change (MOC) as required;
- Provide suitable acknowledgment and feedback to employees reporting safety or security incidents, including the results of event analysis and actions taken;
- Participate in development strategies as part of the Safety Promotion component of the SMS;
- Verify that the corrective actions to address findings are implemented by the auditees and that these re-establish compliance with Nolinor’s requirements, addressing both the root cause and the findings;
- Ensure a communication link between the Safety Office and the employees of the different functional sectors;
- Provide independent advice on safety matters.

**REQUIRED SKILLS**:

- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience;
- knowledge of the Canadian Aviation Industry and the applicable regulations;
- knowledge of Safety Management Systems;
- Auditing experience;
- Skills in technical writing of manuals, policies and procedures;
- Workload analysis and flight data monitoring experience.
- Bilingualism, both oral and written;
- Auditor Certification, an asset;
- Honesty, diplomatic and open-minded;
- Resourcefulness and team spirit;
- Good analytical and reasoning skills.
