**General Information**:
Hitachi Energy is hiring a buyer for its Varennes plant. Reporting to the Planning Supervisor, the material Planner will be responsible for the raw material planning required for the manufacture of our products, in compliance with company policies and procedures. This role is positioned to provide key supply chain communication to the business.

**Responsibilities**:
Daily Inventory Review:
- Review current inventory levels for critical materials.
- Identify any shortages or excesses.
- Perform adjustment in SAP, as needed.Production Schedule Alignement:
- Ensure alignment between production schedule and material availability.
- Address discrepancies and provide recommendation.RP and NCR - Material Requirements.- Daily Gemba walk to identify new RP and NCR that require material management actions.
- Raise material requirements to Procurement team.
- Perform material adjustment in SAP accordingly.
- Make sure that material is made available and forwarded to the right area to fix the RP and NCRDemand Forecasting- Collaborate with Production planner and SIOP process owner to improve material demand forecast.
- Adjust material plans based on changes in demand
- Share forecast with Procurement or directly with suppliers.Inventory Turnover Analysis:
- Regularly analyze inventory turnover rates to optimize stock levels.
- Perform Cycle Count to validate accuracy.
- Implement strategies to reduce excess inventory.
- Initiate action to get rid of excess and obsolete material.Cross-Functional collaboration- Collaborate with other departments, such production and clerks to ensure smooth material management operationsTraining and Development- Invest in ongoing training for material planning, both internally (HUB activities, ITM, etc.) or externally (if any interesting training)
- Keep the team members informed of the best practices and train back ups.**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in procurement, logistics, management or manufacturing-related field;
- 2 to 3 years' experience in a similar position;
- Any other combination of training and experience deemed relevant;
- Knowledge of SAP software, an asset;
- Good knowledge of the Office Suite, particularly Excel;
- Advanced French and English, spoken and written.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task;
- Demonstrated ability to demonstrate rigor, resourcefulness, initiative and determination;
- Strong problem-solving skills;
