**Job Posting**: Development Consultant in Beautiful Northern BC

We are looking for a Developmental Consultant to join our multi-disciplinary team to work with children birth - 19 years of age. The Developmental Consultant uses family-centered, culturally sensitive, and trauma-informed approaches to provide intervention to children and youth.

The position is permanent part-time.

**Wage**: $24.00-$38.00 depending on diploma or degree qualifications and years of experience related to the field.

**Responsibilities**:

- Practice with culturally safe, trauma-informed, relational, person and family-centered approaches.
- Establish and maintain respectful relationships with families.
- Support home visits to assess infant development and plan with parents to enhance optimal development and monitor progress.
- Help monitor caseloads and wait lists.
- Encourage the use of About My Child/About Me and assessment tools and report writing and recommendations; ensure appropriate referrals and follow up.
- Implement strategies and appropriate therapies for supporting infants and young children with support needs or with a likelihood of developmental delay.
- Facilitate groups and community programming as needed
- Work with staff and families, understanding the cultural and socio-economic issues in your community
- Demonstrate knowledge of the stages of early childhood development including typical and atypical growth and development; Indigenous culture and issues, and local early childhood development/support resources and services.

**Qualifications**:

- A degree or diploma in a related early childhood development field or related field (e.g., nursing, education, psychology, social work).
- Training and experience in working with young children and families.

- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
- Use of a safe vehicle is required
