Position Summary:
The Desktop Support Technician is first and second level support of all Rocky View County staff. The Desktop Support Technician is responsible to diagnose and troubleshoot software and hardware problems, installation and maintenance of computers and peripherals, mobile devices, and meeting room related issues throughout the organization.

Core Accountabilities:
Daily Operations
- Serve as first point of contact for all users requesting IT services
- Provide timely resolution to user incidents and requests and provide status updates.
- Manage and update PC images to maintain current software levels.
- Monitor daily operations and enhance processes to maximize technology efficiency
- Provide support for desk phones and mobile devices (Android and iOS)
- Maintain and contribute to technical documentation, manuals and IT processes
- Ensure all deployed assets are properly managed (states, status, location, and assignment) and returned hardware is tagged for disposal
- Participate in an “On-Call” rotation as required.
- Handle all client service requests in a professional, positive and respectful manner.
- Maintain ITS inventory and be able to provide reports as requested.
- Possess the ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team environment.
- Prepare for and attend meetings as required.
Strategy, Planning, Analysis, Administration
- Work collaboratively with the team in developing and refining internal procedures and processes.
- Manage projects as assigned and communicate project status with Supervisor.
- Keep abreast with new technologies and evolving ones.
- Highly self-directed with the ability to take initiative, prioritize, and multi-task.
Other Responsibilities
- Attend and participate in inter-jurisdictional meetings and activities on an ad hoc basis.
- Act in a professional and responsible manner to protect the integrity of employees and the business of Rocky View County.
- Display a professional and ethical responsibility to protect privacy, use information appropriately, and maintain the confidentiality and security of all information related to employees, business and residents of Rocky View County.
- Ensure process is followed for purchase of goods and services within established guidelines.
- Work in accordance with the requirements established by the RVC Health and Safety Program and the Alberta OHS Act, Regulation and Code.
- Take reasonable care to protect their health and safety and other persons at or in the vicinity of the worksite while they are working.

Position Requirements:
The typical minimum level of education to perform this job competently is equivalent to completion of a diploma training program at a college or technical school with a minimum of three years of progressive Information Systems service desk experience.
- Hardware deployments and maintenance.
- Software deployment systems SCCM 2010 & Newer.
