**Job purpose**

The purpose of the Bartender is to prepare alcoholic beverages for patrons and interact with them while taking orders and serving snacks and drinks.

**Duties and responsibilities**
- Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations
- Check customers’ identification and confirm that they meet legal drinking age
- Maintain knowledge of current products, promotions and policies regarding payment and security practices
- Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies
- Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience
- Deliver consistently high levels of customer service to each patron and maintain a safe environment by identifying problem clients and having them removed if needed.
- Keep the bar area clean in accordance with company guidelines as well as the requirements of the local health department.
- Prepare beverages and snacks based on the serving sizes as outlined by the company’s standards
- Comply with all food and beverage regulations.
- Develop an efficient work pace that keeps customers at the bar
- Team up with co-workers to ensure proper customer service between bar and retail
- “Go the extra mile” to drive sales
- Adhere to the company's closing/cleaning procedures.
- Attend External Sawdust City Events at various locations

**Qualifications**
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years’ experience as a bartender
- Smart Serve certification required
- Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills
- Flexible work schedule
- Experience in the craft beer industry is an asset
- Passion for craft beer

**Working conditions**

Indoor bar environment, not always well lit. Exposure to loud noise, music, distracting sound levels; especially during busy times.

**Physical requirements**

The incumbent must be able to lift 50kg kegs and stand for long periods of time.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Seasonal

Pay: $16.55-$28.27 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
