**Job Summary**:
The MAP Case Worker will be involved in conducting outreach, intake, planning, and overall guidance and support for families in the Moving Ahead Program (MAP). The position provides essential support to newly arrived immigrant and refugee families, helping them overcome various settlement barriers.

Moving Ahead Program : Archway Community Services

**Your Role**:
Archway’s MAP Case Worker with the Moving Ahead Program (MAP) contributes by:

- Engaging in outreach to make connections with newly arrived and/or “hard to reach” families.
- Carrying out intake and assessments with clients and developing comprehensive, wraparound support plans tailored to clients’ needs.
- Providing one-on-one counselling to clients.
- Assisting the Life Skills/ Topical Workshop facilitator in organizing, facilitating, and preparing curriculum for discussion groups.
- Providing home outreach and visitation as needed, and ensuring clients have access to essential services.
- Assisting with addressing barriers to participation such as transportation, language, and/or literacy.

**Our Offer**:

- Wage: $24.00 to $26.00 per hour.
- A full-time position at 35 hours per week, availability Mondays to Fridays, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM with some evening and weekend work.
- Temporary until March 31, 2025, with the possibility of an extension.

**Getting an Interview-you will be considered if you have**:

- A degree in the Human Services field, OR the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience addressing settlement needs and issues of multi-barrier immigrants and refugees.
- Experience working with clients suffering emotional and mental health issues.
- Experience using case planning and case management principles and techniques.
- Ability to speak Swahili and/or any other African language.

**The Job Requires you to have**:

- Strong written, verbal, and active listening skills; able to communicate effectively and respectfully with people with a variety of backgrounds and abilities.
- Understanding of intercultural family dynamics.
- Crisis intervention and de-escalation skills.
- Ability to communicate in Swahili, and an additional African language would be an asset.
- Access to a reliable vehicle and comfortable using the Agency van.
- A valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License and a satisfactory driver’s abstract.
- A satisfactory Criminal Records Check is a condition of employment.
