2 Temporary Part-time Positions (15 hours biweekly)

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

Under the general supervision of the Director of Facility Operations, performs cleaning duties of residents' rooms, offices, common areas including Main Lobby, corridors, lounges, and other related duties as required.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

Performs various cleaning tasks within assigned work areas of the Home:

- Bathrooms: Washes sinks, toilets, tiles, and floors; replenishes supplies, i.e.: toilet paper, Lily cups, soap, hand sanitizer dispensers
- Dining Room: Washes floors, tables, and chairs. Changes tablecloths on each unit.
- Residents' Rooms: Dusts dressers, beds, pictures, and door frames. Cleans and disinfects call bell cables, remote controls, bed-head/foot boards, washrooms, shines mirrors, support bars. Dust mops and/or washes around furniture daily. Once a week moves furniture and washes complete floor. Washes marks found on walls. Empties garbage and recycling.
- Office: Dusts all bookcases, desks, pictures, and windowsills. Washes any marks off walls and windows. Empties waste baskets and recycling.
- Activity Areas: Dry mops and/or washes around furniture daily. Dusts pictures, washes marks from walls, empties garbage.
- Common areas & corridors: Dry mops and/or washes around furniture daily.
- Tub Rooms/Utility Rooms: Dry mops and/or washes floor every two days. Washes marks off walls. Empties garbage.
- Replenish all rooms with toilet paper, paper towels and soap for dispensers. - Cleaning resident’s room after death. All items must be removed from the room. Furnishings are to be washed / dusted and bed made. Towels / face clothes are to be placed in the washroom.
- Notify the Manager if furniture is soiled or broken.
- Clean and replenish the cart for the next shift.
- Demonstrate willingness to co-operate with colleagues, supervisors, and members of other departments.
- Demonstrate consideration towards residents, visitors, Home's policies, and procedures.
- Ensure the privacy, dignity, and confidentiality of the residents.
- Demonstrate ability to interpret verbal and written communications and instruction.
- Reports for work on time.
- Appears clean, neat, well-groomed, and properly attired according to the dress code for the department.
- Participates in in-services and continuing education.
- Review core competency in-services as required by legislation.
- Ensure the Health and Safety of residents, staff, volunteers, and visitors by following safe practices and proper procedures.
- Respect and follows the proper lines of authority when reporting events or handling disputes while utilizing process of appeal if necessary.
- Perform any other duties as required that are necessary for the welfare of the residents and efficient operation of the Home.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Has general knowledge of work methods as required by the Housekeeping Department.
- Able to work alone and with direction.
- Relevant work experience (Housekeeping, Laundry, Custodial, Janitorial).
- General computer skills
- Good command of the English language (Read, write, speak, listen)
- Organizational, planning, time management, and multi-tasking skills.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Part-time hours: 7.5 per week

**Salary**: $20.08 per hour

**Experience**:
