**SPECIALITY INSTRUCTOR - GARDENING INSTRUCTOR**
**(Contract Position, May 27 to September 16, 2024 - $22.00/hr)**

A temporary opportunity exists for a Gardening Instructor who is passionate about gardening and
experienced in creating engaging program plans. Working out of the George Ashe Library and
55+ residents, educating patrons on gardening skills.

**Successful applicants will possess the following**:

- Must be medically and physically fit to perform the duties of the position.
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, organization, communication (verbal and written in

English) and customer service skills.
- Must be willing to work irregular hours, including weekends.
- Ability to provide hands-on instruction on planting, pruning, watering, and garden maintenance

techniques.
- Ability to create an inclusive and accessible learning environment, with specialized experience

working with individuals with disabilities.
- Proven experience in instructing and creating program plans for gardening and flowering

programs for all ages and skill levels.
- Passion for sharing knowledge and inspiring others in the art of gardening.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of learners.
- Must hold current Standard First Aid, Basic Rescuer CPR-C, and Auto External Defibrillator

(AED) certifications.
- Must be prepared to undergo a Vulnerable Sector Screening as a condition of employment.
