Newton’s Grove School has been in operation for 46 years and is a leading JK-12 student-focused university prep school in Mississauga. Just 8 minutes from Pearson International Airport, our state-of-the-art facility is located adjacent to Paul Coffey Park, providing students with inspiring indoor and outdoor learning environments. Each year, our graduates earn an average of 5.5 offers of university acceptance and are prepared to succeed at university and beyond.

Over the past five years, our student population has grown by approximately 50 well-qualified students each year as we have planned. This is due to the great work of our faculty and staff team in this outstanding facility. We are poised to begin a third and final phase of renovation that will provide additional learning and gathering spaces for a student population of 900 students. This optimal number of students will ensure each student benefits from engaging choices in courses, extra-curricular activities, and relationships.

We are in search of a LTO Teacher (Middle School Art, Middle School Advisory, and Learning Support). We have identified the need for a dynamic, engaging and creative Middle School Teacher to join our team. We are seeking a teacher with the energy, experience, and resourcefulness needed to do the best for our students.

**Qualifications**
- OCT certification in good standing preferred
- Bachelor degree in education or related field preferred
- Special Education Part I an asset
- Enjoy being creative in the Art process
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with parents, students and other staff members.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to think critically and problem solve in an atmosphere where judgment is required.

**Responsibilities**:

- Meet with students regularly
- Support international students with ELL challenges
- Support individualized IEP’s for students struggling academically
- Work collaboratively with the Learning Strategist and Middle School Faculty
- Support students with a broad range of difficulties such as mental health and learning exceptionalities to develop skills based on their unique learning profiles
- Full working hours would be 8:30am-4:00pm

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract

**Salary**: Up to $80,000.00 per year
