**RESERVATIONS ASSOCIATE**

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Answer all incoming calls in a friendly and efficient manner.
- Provide guests with the requested information concerning the city, the hotel and its services.
- Obtain the necessary information from the guests and enter it into the PMS computer system.
- Promote the Marriott Bonvoy program.
- Must be effective in sales and upselling.
- Computer literacy and typing skills required.
- Able to work in a fast paced environment.
- Provide high quality servicing to internal and external customers.
- Outgoing and enthusiastic attitude.
- File daily reservation information and other correspondence.
- Answer questions concerning reservations for employees and other departments including but not limited to Sales, Conventions Services and the Executive Office.
- Other duties as assigned by Management.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Excellent guest service skills are required.
- Previous Guest Service experience in a hotel is an asset.
- Must be able to work flexible hours.
- Must be able to assist Guests with their concerns maintaining professional standards and problem solve effectively.
- Must be able to perform professionally and politely under pressure.
- Must have excellent knowledge of the city, including, local events, restaurants, shopping and attractions.
- Communicate effectively, both written and verbally.
- Must have the ability to communicate with guests in a confident and pleasing manner under a variety of situations.
- Must be able to operate efficiently and multi-task in a busy environment.
- Must possess basic computer skills.
- Requires writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
- Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach different floors of the hotel on a timely basis. - Must be a team player but able to work independently.
- Must be able to fluently speak, read, write and understand English.
- Must have strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Walking and standing are occasionally required; you must be able to exert a well-paced mobility to get to other departments in the hotel on a timely basis.
- Must be able to lift up to 30lbs occasionally.
- Must be able to sit at a desk for up to 8 hours a day, with the ability to spend extended lengths of time viewing a computer screen.
- Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
- Ability to be persuasive with telephone sales skills.
- General knowledge of the city and its attractions, as well as the hotel’s facilities.
- Proficiency with Galaxy/Lightspeed an asset.
- MS Word and Excel knowledge an asset.
