Western Energy Services Corp. is an oilfield service company which provides contract drilling services through Horizon Drilling in Canada and Stoneham Drilling Corporation in the United States. In addition, Western provides well servicing through Eagle Well Servicing in Canada, and provides rental services through Aero Rental Services in Canada.

**Position Summary**

The position of Recruiter is responsible for seeking out, interviewing, and screening applicants to fill existing and future field job openings. This position works closely with the Personnel Team and Management to identify future and current hiring needs and implementing recruitment strategies through various types of advertising. Duties include advertising, recruitment, employee relations and coordinator relief and Personnel department support.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
- Establish and maintain relationships with coordinators and management to stay up to date with current and future hiring needs
- Contact applicants to inform them of employment possibilities, consideration, and selection
- Organize and manage pre-employment orientations, medical/physicals and drug screening.
- Inform potential applicants about facilities, operations, benefits, and job or career opportunities within the company
- Interview applicants to obtain information on work history, training, education, and job skills, safety certifications and license classes. Perform reference checks when necessary
- Send required documentation to potential hires, ensuring accurate completion of onboarding documentation and obtaining all necessary documentation and safety certificates
- Prepare employee files and ensure all information is completed, accurate and up to date
- Recruit applicants for open positions, maintaining advertisements and participating in job fairs when requested
- Develop and maintain recruitment material such as brochures, information pamphlets and web and social media content
- Develop and maintain social media pages with a variety of content
- Other duties as required

**Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
- Grade 12 graduate
- Oilfield administration or dispatching background an asset
- Strong time management skills, multitasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with mínimal supervision
- Excellent customer service
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, in particular Word and Excel.
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Must be able to work individually and as part of a team
- Proficient in the use of social media platforms

**Special Conditions of Employment**
- Overtime as required
- Occasional travel may be required

**This position will be eligible for immediate benefits, including health, dental, and vision coverage, as well as an RRSP matching program.**
- Although we have operational offices throughout the province, this position is based in our Blackfalds, Alberta office._
