Purpose and Scope
To work in a conscientious and efficient manner to meet Company production standards, while joining fabricated parts by brazing for assembly in the coil production.

Organization Relationship
The Brazer position has a direct responsibility to perform required job functions designated by the Copper Department Foreman in connection with work policies and procedures directed by the Company.

Working Conditions
The Brazer works in a controlled plant environment with exposure to extreme heat from headers, torch and materials. Proper use of exhaust trunks or hoods and personal protective equipment such as gloves, safety eyeglasses and work boots are mandatory. Must be available to work all shifts.

Duties
1. Read work orders and drawings to understand the requirements of the job.
2. Set up brazing station for specified job requirements.
3. Turn on regulated gas and oxygen supply and ignite pilot light.
4. Select proper jigs as required for job.
5. Prepare assemblies and headers for brazing process.
6. Check tubing to ensure quality before brazing.
7. Select proper brazing rods.
8. Set torch to proper heat.
9. Braze piece to production standards.
10. Check header after brazing for any defects and correct if found.
11. Complete all paper work upon completion of job. (150 papers)
12. Label job with the following information: part number, job number and quantity.
13. Relocate to proper storage area.
14. Shut off oxygen and gas at regulator after brazing.
15. Perform other duties as requested.

**Responsibilities**:
1. To ensure quality products are produced in a timely fashion.
2. Correct quantities of products are being produced for each job.
3. Paper work is properly completed for each job.
4. Equipment is maintained in good working condition.
5. Follow safety procedures, including use of equipment and safety devices, to ensure safe working environment for self and co-workers.
6. Ensure cleanliness of work area and equipment.
7. Assist Foreman in training employees when required.

Education and Training
A Brazer, at minimum, is required to have a high school diploma or equivalent. Human Resources can determine if education and experiences are considered “equivalent”. Previous experience in brazing preferred.

Wages: Per Collective Agreement
