**Roles & Responsibilities**
- Conducts tests of new components, assemblies, and systems, as well as comparison tests of competitive products and components based on test criteria as established by policies and procedures or written test plans; maintains accurate records of test results and reports results to appropriate development and testing group.
- Prepares prototypes of components assemblies and systems of either new or current products as directed by policies and procedures, written test plans or work requests. Ensures that the prototypes meet the established specifications.
- Operates required machinery and equipment in a safe manner following established safety rules, maintains a neat and clean work area, follows established tool and instrument control procedures, and reports any unsafe acts or conditions to the immediate supervisor.
- Performs inspections and installation of parts and components on test cars; maintains accurate records of the installation of these parts and the collection of test data.
- Builds test fixtures to carry out various needs associated with testing the components in a manner that will be accelerated in terms of time and that will correlate with actual field use conditions.
- Reports to the supervisor about all ongoing projects with regard to project status, completion time projections, and any problems that may have arisen during the course of the project.
- Other duties as required.

**Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities**
- Two-year technical degree in electrical engineering, technology, or related field.
- Experience in testing processes: experience using equipment such as a dynamometer, sound meters, strip chart recorders, multimeters, oscilloscope and fatigue analysis equipment; experience with test techniques related to vehicular electrical systems.
- Demonstrated ability to operate shop equipment, including welder, drill press, lathe, mill, press brake, shear, and band saws.

**Working Conditions**
- Commercial/Industrial environment.
- Exercise caution, as the environment presents many naturally occurring hazards.
- Always adhere to safety policies (wear protective equipment).
- Overtime as required.
- Able to work and communicate with prudence, while effectively managing time, completing tasks, and working safely.
