**Description**

**Responsibilities**:

- Work under the direction of a Registered Nurse or another regulated healthcare professional
- Perform activities of daily living such as feeding, grooming, bowel care, dressing, and bathing
- Assist in organizing leisure activities that aid integration of our client members within the community
- Assist in satisfying the physical, social and emotional needs of the clients
- Support our clients with their individual goals and needs as instructed in the client’s support plans
- Ensure the health, safety, welfare, and independence of our clients
- Provide support in all aspects of daily living to individuals with developmental disabilities and/ or mental health support needs
- Perform household duties such as cleaning, grocery shopping, preparation of meals, and laundry when required
- Comply with Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, participating in the maintenance of a safe, clean community
- Maintain the personal hygiene of our clients
- Keep record of daily care e.g., administration records, resident incident reports, restraint monitoring records, medication, daily and overnight inspection records
- Keep up to date with clients’ conditions, procedures, and treatment by going over communication reports before the start of each shift

**Work Experience**
- 1+ year of relevant experience working as a Personal Support Worker (PSW)
- Experience working in healthcare community centers or with individual clients

**Certifications**
- PSW Certificate from an accredited educational institution
- Valid Pharmacology Training & Certificate
- Valid Criminal Background Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
- Standard First Aid CPR (Class C) certificate
- A valid Class 5 Driver’s License

**About you.**
- Ability to communicate in English (both oral and written)
- Ability to read medical prescriptions and complete incident report forms
- Ability to accommodate and take on-call & weekend shifts as at when needed.
- Ability to comply with standard procedures and ensure safe work practices
- Ability to accommodate a flexible schedule with a can-do attitude

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Fixed term contract, Casual
Part-time hours: 35 per week

**Salary**: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
