The Hamilton Family Health Team is seeking applicants for a Medical Receptionist for the Healthcare at Eva Rothwell Centre. This is a new primary care clinic located at the Eva Rothwell Centre at 460 Wentworth Street North, a trusted community facility since 2004, where social and community programs will complement the activities of the clinic.
Our team is composed of a dynamic and diverse group of clinicians, educators, and researchers from multiple professions eager to take on the challenge of patient centered, longitudinal and comprehensive primary care services for individuals who currently have no access to primary care and change the social trajectories of marginalized populations.
Community engagement is a crucial part of the role, as data collection and feedback will guide our evaluation and determine the development of new programs that are important to the community.
The environment will be culturally safe, trusting, welcoming, non-judgmental, and friendly. Office workflow will encourage the use of up-to-date practice tools, evidence-based care, and sustainability.

The Medical Receptionist is a member of the interdisciplinary team at Healthcare at Eva Rothwell Centre (HERC) who will support administrative functions for the delivery of high-quality patient centered primary care.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Booking appointments,
- Answering telephones,
- Greeting patients and their families alongside the interdisciplinary team,
- Liaising with patients and families in a professional and compassionate manner while maintaining privacy and confidentiality
- Maintenance of patient records by obtaining recording and updating personal information,
- Scanning and faxing patient information and reports,
- Communicating with patients on a consistent confidential basis.
**Requirements**:
- Diploma in Medical Office Administration or equivalent experience,
- Exceptional customer service, communication and organizational skills
- EMR experience will be an asset,
- Excellent customer service and organizational skills, particularly in a community clinic will be an asset
- Exhibit an ability to be open, flexible, and non-judgmental,
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication and skill in challenging interactions,
- Proven expertise in working both autonomously and within a team,
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and initiative,
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
