**Position Overview**:
The Afternoon Supervisor in coordination with the Site Manager is directly responsible for Paladin Security operations at the Canada Life site. With the support of the Site Manager this position ensures high quality security services are provided to the client. These services include access control, customer service, alarm response services, guard selection and training.

**Preferred skills/qualifications**:

- Ontario Security Guard Licence
- First Air/CPR Certification
- Excellent English communication and writing skills
- Strong organization skills
- Excellent ability to learn, troubleshoot, and provide support for security software systems
- Ability to think critically and independently problem solve
- Ability to foster a team
- Motivation and ability to work independently without direct supervision
- Familiarity with Lenel, TrackTik and Prospective software
- Minimum one to three years experience working in a managing capacity (preferred)
- Excellent customer service skills
- Preference given to those with a college diploma in security related study, ASIS certifications (APP, CPP or PSP) or bachelor’s (or higher) degree in related discipline

**Essential Job Functions**:
In addition to performing services to back up the duties of the Guards as necessary, the Site Security Manager shall perform the following tasks, including without limitation:
**The Security Supervisors shall ensure that**:

- Activities are assigned to Security Officers on each shift.
- Security Officers are on time, equipped, and attired when reporting for duty.
- General patrols are conducted as required.
- GWLRA buildings are opened and secured as required or outlined in the post orders.
- Persons entering and exiting entry points are monitored.
- Restricted access points are secure.
- Video surveillance is monitored.
- Security Officers are provided adequate guidance and supervision.
- Training requirements are reported to Security Manager.
- Gaps in security protocols and the reasons for them are reported to the Security Manager.
- They lead activities in the event of a breach of security during their respective shift.
- contact the appropriate authorities, police, Security Manager and Property Manager in the event of a serious incident.
- Notify the Security Manager and Property Manager when a security breach involves personal injury, emergency services such as ambulance and police.
- Notify the Security Manager when a security event is likely to generate media interest.
- Records are kept for evidence purposes and ensures and that Security Officers notes are complete and accurate.
- Names, addresses, and contact information of witnesses to an incident or crime are obtained.
- Incident reports are written using perspective management system, are thorough and completed in a timely manner; and
- Incident reports prepared by Security Officers are reviewed and approved for thoroughness and follow-up as required.

**At the time of the interview applicant must be able to produce proof of completion of the following prerequisites**:

- A Valid Ontario Security Guard License
- First Aid/CPR Certification
- Diploma’s, Degrees, Certifications
- Proficient in English (both oral and written)
- Covid19 Vaccination Record

**Successful completion of the following requirements provided by Paladin are mandatory prior to placement**:

- First Aid & CPR - Level C
- Management of Aggressive Behavior
- Use of Force
- Report Writing
- Additional courses as assigned
