**We are looking for a Manager, Contracting**
As **Manager, Contracting**, you will be responsible for the efficient operation of the Contract and the Material Management Sections while maintaining a deep understanding of contracting and material management regulations (risks, complications and implications) and interpreting complex contract submissions/proposals. You will be accountable for providing leadership in the management and implementation of strategies and plans for the Contract and Material Management Sections, including the plan and management of storage space and solutions, repair and maintenance of the cafeteria and restaurant equipment for both museums, and the budgeting for the operation of the Material Management Section. You will also be responsible for the procurement activities of the assigned client group and major projects as well as the production of reports in response to parliamentary questions and/or for the Central Agency, Canadian International Trade Tribunal and Senior Management.

**Five (5) years of relevant experience**:
- In the procurement field in a private or public sector setting;
- Working with senior representatives from suppliers and contractors as well as with internal clients;
- Addressing complaints from internal and external sources over procurement issues including experience dealing with the Canadian International Trade tribunal;
- Managing employees in a unionized environement;
- Conducting sensitive negotiations with suppliers including construction or trade related industries;
- Preparing, issuing and analyzing major RFPs, competitive tendering and sole-source contracting.
**Knowledge of**:
- Generally accepted purchasing, and contracting practices;
- Tendering practices and procedures, negotiating, product pricing and cost analysis techniques;
- Industrial capabilities pertaining to the availability of goods and services pertinent in a Museum environment together with relevant industrial practices and procedures;
- The construction industry and related procurement practices;
- Contract law and applicable federal and provincial regulations;
- Procurement as it relates to the National Capital Region including providing bodies such as the CCQ (Commission de la construction du Québec) and BSDQ (Bureau des soumissions déposées du Québec).
**Education**: University degree in Business Administration, Purchasing or related field or an acceptable combination of education and experience. A certification with a recognized purchasing association would be considered an asset.
**Compensation**: MG4 - $105,915 to $134,846
**Status**: Permanent Full-Time Position (# 10289)
