About Us:

Data Analytics Section maintains data integrity and interoperability linked to internal and external information sharing. It is intended for this Section to become a Centre where fusion of technology and resources ensures the effective flow of information, intelligence production, operational tasking and measurement. DAS is comprised of the following teams Data Analytics Unit and Intelligence and Information Management Unit.

**How do I qualify?**:
**Mandatory**:

- Ability to pass an OPP background/ security investigation.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**: Knowledge of data modelling and database development methodology and techniques, programming languages, and data storage and retrieval techniques to analyze client data flow and management requirements in relation to program services and operations, recommend database structure and data management standards and procedures, design, implement and test database systems.

Knowledge of systems development methods and practices to prepare documentation on development and design specifications, develop and recommend data management procedures (e.g., user access, data security), and write manuals and guidelines for users.

Interpersonal skills to conduct interviews, read program and procedural manuals, review existing data management processes. Ability to work in a team environment.

Ability to explain how various technical issues and requirements (e.g., nature of storage requirements, hardware/software capabilities or limitations) impact on database design and eventual capabilities, to non-technical clients and end users. Ability to explain and ensure client's understanding of database management and maintenance procedures and requirements (e.g., controlling user access, security measures).

Oral communication skills to conduct interviews with clients and gather information on data flow and data management requirements.

Ability to explain and discuss technical recommendations and requirements with clients, users, project team and other technical staff.

Writing skills to prepare reports on data requirements, write documentation for design and development of database, develop operating procedures, develop training resources, instructions, and manuals for end user.

Analytical and problem-solving skills to analyze client information and data management requirements, and to develop database and recommend related data management standards and procedures.

Analytical and evaluative skills to develop and recommend data management procedures, e.g., controlling user access, security control measures; and to develop and deliver training and technical support to users during testing, implementation and ongoing use of databases and systems.
