North Vancouver Recreation & Culture (NVRC) is dedicated to building healthy individuals, families and communities. NVRC offers a wide range of recreation and cultural programs and services to residents of all ages and abilities. We are currently seeking energetic, responsible and highly-motivated individuals who are able to prepare and lead a variety of age appropriate cooking and baking programs for school age and preschool age children.

**GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE**
You will be delivering excellent customer service experiences. You will lead cooking and baking activities while creating a safe and fun environment. Set up, preparation, planning and clean up are responsibilities included in this position.

**ABOUT YOU**
You are a courteous and effective team player committed to community while providing quality and safe activities. You are reliable, responsive to customer needs and excellent at building relationships. You will be comfortable working with young children, parents, other leaders, volunteers and facility staff.

**DUTIES**:
As a casual **Cooking/Baking Instructor **you will be responsible for lesson planning, and delivering a fun and interactive culinary learning experience for school age and/or preschool age children. Programs run at a variety of times through the week with some possibility of weekend courses.

**Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following, and will include tasks beyond the kitchen**:

- Food preparation
- Dishwashing
- Set-up and clean-up of cooking classes
- Ensure a premium cooking class experience is delivered to each student
- Instructing groups through basic recipes
- Occasional grocery shopping

**SKILLS REQUIRED**:

- Comfortable with food preparation (knife skills, safe food handling and basics of food storage).
- Experience in a kitchen is preferred but not necessary
- Detail-oriented
- Responsible and able to work with limited supervision
- Solutions-oriented and adaptable to change
- Engaging, creative, hands-on, skills-based and interactive manner

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**HOURLY RATE**:
$20.00/hr, plus 4% in lieu of benefits
