**What can I expect to do in this role?**: In this role, you will:

- Perform psychometric assessment, including the selection, administration, hand and electronic scoring and interpretation of standardized and non-standardized assessment techniques
- Investigate and assess behavioural disorders and psycho-physiological dysfunction through interviews, rating scales, psychological and observational methods
- Prepare clinical assessments
- Participate in the development and implementation of psychotherapeutic treatment programs and strategies
- Provide consultation services, and participate in training and development for frontline staff

**How do I qualify?**:
**Mandatory**:

- You have a Master's degree in Psychology from a university of recognized standing

**Specialized Knowledge and Skills**:

- You have knowledge of psychological theories and theories of human development, including the fundamental principles and theories related to the assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of psychological dysfunction
- You have knowledge of various objective and specialized tests, and their appropriate selection, administration, utilization and interpretation

**Training and Counselling Skills**:

- You have knowledge of adult education theories and practices to perform training to frontline staff
- You can provide counselling sessions to inmates

**Analytical and Reasoning Skills**:

- You can determine the nature of psychological dysfunction using objective and psychological tests, and their interpretation within broadly-based guidelines
- You can determine, develop and recommend appropriate treatment and rehabilitative programs for inmates
- You can monitor and recommend changes to inmate's treatment programs, and coordinate referral to other programs and services

**Communication and Interpersonal Skills**:

- You can conduct interviews with inmates, and provide explanation to staff and inmates on the administration of psychological tests
- You can interview inmates, interpret and clarify test results, and exchange information with inmates, while demonstrating tact and sensitivity
- You can work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment
