Draftsperson Miscellaneous Steel

Darlington Steel’s primary business is the supply and installation of miscellaneous metals including stairs, railings and ladders. Our quality of work, dedication to detail and ability to meet schedules has made us one of the premier suppliers in the GTA.

Darlington Steel is experienced in the design, supply and erection of unique structural steel projects including building additions, structural platforms and roof grillages. We have also completed various contracts involving heritage structures including supply and installation of shoring for façade retention.

As well as completing many conventional roof, crane runway and column reinforcing jobs Darlington has undertaken contracts were hot work (welding) was not possible.We have also undertaken slab reinforcing by installing tension plates.

We also specialize in the supply and installation of Architectural / Ornamental Metals including glass, stainless and bronze railings as well as feature stairs in various finishes. Other products include cladding, column covers and elevator surrounds.

**Job Overview**:
We are seeking a skilled Drafter to join our team. As a Drafter, you will be responsible for creating technical drawings and plans based on specifications provided by architects and engineers. Your attention to detail and proficiency in drafting software will be essential for this role.

**Responsibilities**:

- Utilize software such as AutoCAD, Advance Steel, XSteel, and to create detailed drawings and schematics
- Collaborate with architects and engineers to understand project requirements and objectives
- Prepare drawings for commercial, or industrial projects
- Incorporate feedback and make revisions to drawings as necessary
- Ensure drawings adhere to industry standards and project guidelines

**Requirements**:

- Ability to detail stairs, handrials and structural steel
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Advance Steel, XSteel,
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
