Classroom Assistant, Walking and Lunch Supervisor

Riverview Montessori provides an enriched learning environment for children ages 3-6 using the Montessori method. We are open September to June and are licensed both as a childcare centre and an independent school.

We are looking to fill a part-time position on our team. We are looking for a patient, kind, and energetic individual able to quickly jump in when and where needed/

The individual would be required to:

- Assist teachers with the needs of the classroom, preparation of materials, cleaning, snack preparation and stocking of supplies
- Occasionally working with a group of children to help cover ratio when required
- Assist in getting children ready for outdoor play or home time, help children learn independent dressing/undressing skills
- Supervise and walk a small group of children (between the ages of 3-6) to and from our Centre
- Assist with lunch time supervision, preparation, and clean up

**Training**: Will be provided if necessary.

**Qualifications and Assets**:

- Be self motivated, patient, and reliable with a strong work ethic
- Possesses the ability to work professionally with children and other members of the team
- Possesses a strong understanding of child development
- Must have or be willing to obtain their CCA (Childcare Assistant) certification
- Must hold or be willing to obtain a criminal record check and child abuse registry check
- Must have or be willing to obtain a current first aid with level C CPR certification
- Must have or be willing to complete a recognized 40-hr course related to early childhood education within the first year of employment
- Montessori training and/or experience is an asset
- Experience working with children with additional support needs is an asset
