**Early Childhood Educator**

Shift: 8:30-5:15 (45 min lunch) - no exceptions
**- Independently Motivated
- Valid First Aid Certificate
- Valid Criminal Record Check that includes the vulnerable sector (within 6 months)
- Valid Child Intervention Check from child and family services (within 6 months)
- Fluent in speaking, reading, writing, and English comprehension
- Must be a warm, nurturing, flexible professional who genuinely enjoys and takes pride in their profession.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of child growth and development, positive child guidance, emergent curriculum and open-ended learning experiences.

**As an Early Learning Professional the following responsibilities are to be fulfilled**:

- Have fun teaching children hands on learning through play
- Must be able to engage and communicate with the children through all levels of play
- Work directly with the children, being actively involved in all activities and aspects of child care
- Maintain programs philosophy and policies
- Create and implement an emergent curriculum and open ended program plans
- Must have a positive work ethic and demeanor
- Must be able to move throughout environment supervising appropriately and engaging with children
- Engage in team development and work independently as well as with a team
- Ensure mental and physical safety of children
- Diapering and toileting children
- Maintain relationships with parents, children, team members, and coaches at the program
- Completing observations regularly and input children’s daily information on HiMama (iPad provided)
- Maintain and exceed ministry regulations
- Engage in professional development each year, and attend monthly staff meetings
- Engage in program planning each month

Wage top up paid per month based on children's hours and level certification from Gov of AB. Cost share health benefits available after 3 months of employment.

Pay: $18.64-$26.62 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
