**Business Development Specialist (Firm-wide Marketing Department) - Hybrid**

**Job Summary**

Hours of work are from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional pre-authorized overtime may be required to meet business needs.

**Primary Responsibilities**

**Business Development & Growth**
- Work with the Sr. BD manager and BD Manager to execute business plan initiatives and assist in tracking programming, revenue and expenses for reporting purposes;
- Assist in identifying and evaluating new business opportunities and targets, facilitating cross-selling initiatives, and participating on client-specific target teams;
- Supporting the budget and expense approval process as a resource for expense coding and budgeting;
- Assist in various innovation and client service projects, including building new processes and tools to more efficiently manage the industry/marketplace model/framework;
- Coordinate and assist in the development of customized responses to pitches, RFPs/RFIs and other marketing collateral for new business opportunities and client meetings; assist in the assembly of and related tracking of pitches and presentations.

**Content Marketing & Social Media**
- Working with social media team to facilitate and coordinate social media campaigns, assess key challenges, and develop solutions to optimize future campaigns;
- Project manage the coordination and distribution of thought leadership collaborating with marketing team requirements to successfully produce, distribute and promote thought leadership and communications;
- Help coordinate posting to blogs and social media portals;

**Event Planning/Coordination**
- Coordinate the business development events and webinars;
- Work with various speciality areas including Technology, Media, Telecommunications, Agribusiness, Privacy and Litigation teams to maintain department/practice group/industry experience lists, deal lists and case studies.

**Competitive Intelligence and Trend Spotting**
- Conduct and analyze research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities to deepen existing client relationships, expand the client base, and increase external and internal visibility in the marketplace and business legal community, as appropriate.

**Deal Tracking and Reporting**
- Engage with practice teams and identified ‘deal champions’ to coordinate deal collection efforts and increase deal capture thru expanded use of the intake platform across regions; maintain deal tracking system.
- Work with the BD Managers to create targeted, strategic submissions practice-related rankings, surveys and awards, including Chambers, Legal 500 and other industry-specific/geographic awards programs.

**Required Knowledge and Experience**
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in related area including, Business Administration, Law, English, Marketing, Communications;
- PMP is considered an asset;
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in communications, marketing or professional services business development preferred;
- Social Listening and paid social campaign experience preferred, with familiarity using social media tools for business (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Bitly);
- Proficiency with MS-Office (MS Word, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, Forms).
