Pillar5 Pharma Inc., an industry leading Canadian CDMO specializing in off-the-shelf sterile pharmaceuticals for the North American market, has an opening for a Buyer/Planner, in Arnprior, ON. Reporting to the Manager, Purchasing, you will be a key internal resource responsible for all aspects of buying, planning, and negotiating activities related to Pillar5 site and associated vendors. This position requires close interaction with Warehousing, Manufacturing, Finance, Technical Services, and Quality Operational personnel.

**Responsibilities**:

- Manage backorders and immediate supply issues that impact production schedules and communicating accordingly during regular scheduled Production/Supply meetings.
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to improve supplier performance, vendor reviews, PPV’s and ongoing related vendor scorecards associated with vendor performance.
- Act as the liaison and work closely with suppliers and QA to resolve quality and supply issues to identify risks to production.
- Maintain successful supply chain partnerships by arranging and attending supplier meetings to discuss developments, negotiate prices, service, quality, or other matters.
- Investigate new sources of supply as part of New Product Introductions, preparing cost analysis/recommendations and lead negotiations on pricing, delivery, and payment terms, while establishing appropriate EOQ’s.
- Set-up and maintain material, supplier, and planning system data in the MRP/ERP system, creating and maintaining Purchasing Specifications.
- Manage Supplier Change Requests and co-ordinate internal change processes.
- Work to obtain inventory turn goals and take appropriate action to minimize distressed inventories and planned obsolescence.
- Assists/lead in the setting of budgetary component requirements and CIP’s.
- Supports all plant and department objectives.

**Qualifications**:

- University degree or college diploma with a concentration in business
- At least 5 years' progressive Purchasing & Planning experience
- Strong analytical capabilities
- Excellent teamwork, organizational and communication skills
- Experience in operations, inventory management, MRP and lean manufacturing processes
- Certification in purchasing (CPP) or production/inventory management (i.e., CPIM) is an asset.
- SAP experience is considered an asset.

**SCHEDULE**:

- Monday - Thursday: 8.5 hour days
- Friday: 6 hour day
