Ipm (Integrated Pest Management) Worker

**Overall Job Purpose**:
IPM Workers are responsible for monitoring all grow areas and crops, checking for signs and symptoms of pests and/or disease. The IPM Worker can be assigned to work any cultivation task in the department based on the needs of the business.
**Responsibilities, including but not limited to**:
- Inspect and monitor assigned sections of crops/plants for pests, biologicals, diseases or damage with the help of the IPM Supervisor and other IPM Workers
- Distinguish between different species of pests or disease to ensure proper documentation of findings and report to the IPM Supervisor in a timely manner
- Communicate any concerns to IPM Supervisor
- Measure and mix various pesticides safely and according to label (and if person holds a valid pesticide applicator license) and/or foliar feeds to plants when required
- Maintain cleanliness in work areas, including grow rooms and IPM station
- Assist in grow room sanitation when required
- Assisting in various cultivation tasks as assigned, including tissue culture, cloning, trimming and pruning, trellising, repopulating grow rooms, and harvesting, as assigned
- Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to maintain compliance with FIGR and Health Canada regulations
- Participate in the company Health & Safety Program and comply with all health and safety related policies and processes
- Other duties as required
**Job Details**:
- Rate of Pay_: $19.00 per hour
- Position Status_: Full-Time, Hourly, Permanent Position

- Psychological Demands:_
- Must be able to complete duties with mínimal supervision and comfortable working independently and safely in a group environment
- Must be willing/able to work in a social environment
- Must be comfortable with completing highly repetitive tasks with focused attention
- Fast-paced, production-focused role
- Physical Demands:_
- Ability to perform physical tasks required for an 8-hour shift period, including but not limited to: pushing, pulling, lifting (up to 50lbs), standing, walking, sitting for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to wear assigned Personal Protective Equipment including, but not limited to medical gloves, safety eyewear, face masks, half-mask respirator, etc.
- For half-masked respirator your face will need to be clean shaven
- This position will involve exposure to fresh cannabis/plant materials and is therefore not likely suitable for anyone that may suffer from allergies to cannabis or plant pollen, or for anyone that experiences medical issues as a result of exposure to cannabis/plant materials
- Environmental Demands:_
- Must be willing and able to work in environments with variable temperature (indoor and outdoor) and humidity, and variable lighting.
- Harvest Area: loud machinery, cool environment regularly (approx. 17° Celsius),
- Greenhouse: high heat and humidity (30+ degrees/55+ humidity), bright LED lighting
- Indoor: high heat and humidity (25+ degrees/55+ humidity), bright LED lighting
- Tissue Culture: clean laboratory
- Must be able to work in an environment that uses cleaning products including, but not limited to, Simple Green, AM 717, Caustek Free, Powerquat, and Isopropyl Alcohol.
- Strong scent of fresh cannabis plants
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience
- Horticulture/agriculture education or direct IPM experience is preferred
- Must have the ability to hold Pesticide Applicator License
- Meticulous attention to detail in repetitive tasks
- The ability to work in a results-oriented, time-sensitive environment
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to work effectively with all levels of employees and management
- Access to reliable transportation to work full-time hours as scheduled (40 hours per week)
- Must have the ability to provide a criminal record check that is clear of any charges that could be related or have a direct correlation to the position or company
