Shipping Assistant

**MANTIS** is looking to add a **Shipping Assistant **to our team of dedicated employees.

**Position Summary**:

- Hardworking individual with exceptional physical strength and endurance.
- Adept at handling detailed work using good hand-eye and mental coordination.
- Computer savvy with exceptional accuracy in data entry.
- Supports different departments doing diverse tasks to help achieve production goals.
- Friendly and results-oriented with the ability to work collaboratively to attain the goals of the employer.

**Areas of work will include**:

- Assists with preparing items for shipment: counts, weighs, measures to verify information against BOL, invoices, and other records.
- Prepares and double checks courier/freight shipments and cross boarder customs documentation.
- Assists with determining method of shipment.
- Assists with pick up arrangements.
- Assists with affixing shipping labels on packed cartons.
- Assists with maintaining inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Assists with operating stretch wrapping equipment.
- Assists with operating pallet strapping equipment.
- Maintains cleanliness throughout the warehouse and carries out facilities maintenance duties as needed.
- Organizes warehouse and work areas for orderliness / cleanliness and follows prescribed safety regulations.
- Operates forklift and / or hand truck to accomplish movement / storage of materials / product.
- Sort, pack, crate and package materials and products.
- Assisting with inventory organization.
- Assists with receiving and unloading freight.
- Assists with unloading of containers.
- Assists with checking for damaged goods.
- Assists with verification of quantity and quality of order.
- Assists with verification of items received with purchase orders.
- Assists with sorting and placing materials / items on racks, shelves, bins.
- Assists with stocking shelves.
- Miscellaneous errands and projects as they arise.

**Education & Experience Requirements**:

- High school diploma, or equivalent
- Excellent communication skills are a must
- Basic mathematic skills
- Training will be provided

**Other Details**:

- A respect for and adherence to punctuality and attendance
- Ability to stand for an extended period of time
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Ability to bend and lift up to 50 lbs. on a daily basis

**Salary**: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
